APDS Recruitment Task Force Recommendations for the 2023-2024 recruitment cycle. I want to thank the members of the task force for their thoughtful considerations and help in developing and updating these guidelines.

 

Briefly, the recommendations include:

• Candidates utilizing their signals to indicate their Top 5 programs.

• Strong recommendation for holistic review of applications

• De-emphasis of numerical scores for USMLE Step 1 and COMLEX Level 1

• A common interview invitation window from Thursday October 26 to Tuesday October 31

• Limiting number of interview invitations to the actual number of interview slots a program has available

• Virtual Interviews are recommended with voluntary in-person visits
